Off We Go!

It's finally here; our wait is over.

In a few hours Brad and I will once again board an airplane bound for Ethiopia (with stops in Chicago and Frankfurt) on a trip that will change our lives forever.  Our boy is coming home!

We leave the United States full of gratitude for the overwhelming support we've received from our friends and family.  Our heartfelt thanks go out to each and every one of you who have emailed, texted, called, and posted on facebook over the past few days to wish us well.  Eli is a very lucky boy to be coming home to so many people who already love him.

We'll arrive in Ethiopia tomorrow night (noon-ish Denver time), and plan to head to our agency's care center first thing Friday morning to get Eli Lingo.  Our family will finally be together.

As with our last trip, I hope to provide short updates and photos on facebook while we're there.  And I look forward to sharing more fully once we've arrived back home.

In the meantime, here's a link to several photos of Gambella, Ethiopia, the region where Eli was born.  The pictures appear to be a few years old; the comments date back to 2009.  Brad and I hope to travel to Gambella someday when conditions are safer.  For now, the fact that US government employees are currently prohibited from traveling there because of the violence is enough to deter us.
