Happy New (?) Year!

I'm not sure what are the outside limits on wishing friends a happy New Year, but January 30th has got to be pushing it.

Sorry about that.

But as you'll see if you check out the timeline to the right, Brad and I have been busy adding a new, little Ethiopian chef to our kitchen.  We don't yet know his name, or how old he is, but we're already totally and completely in love with him.

We'll keep you updated as we travel along what we've been told is likely to be a bumpy road.  But considering the journey our little guy will have made before he meets us, whatever obstacles we experience will be nothing in comparison.

And will be 100% worth it.

In the meantime, sit back, relax, and have a cake pop.  Or two.  And please excuse me if they're a little stale by now.

  1. YAY! Oh my goodness that's so wonderful to hear and I love your adoption timeline!!! I've missed hearing from you on TK and I've been off FB this month so I'm so behind, but congrats congrats congrats! *BIG HUGS*

And the cakepops look delicious =)

  2. Thanks, Jenni! We're really excited. I've missed you, too!!

I had a whole blog in mind about the cake pops, the champagne bottles were made from "champagne" cake using Cold Duck (a family joke). But I just never found the time.

  3. Blog post, not a whole blog about Cold Duck cake pops. Nobody needs to know that much about Cold Duck. :)-

  4. Congratulations to you two! I spend most of my time on G+ when not at work so if this was discussed on FB I missed it.

What a crazy exciting time for you and Brad! Glad to know we will have another cousin in the family!!!

  5. Thanks, Kim! It has already been such a crazy and exciting time, and we're so looking forward to bringing the little guy home. Fingers crossed that it's not too long of a wait (for both our sake and his).

  6. How exciting! Can't wait to hear more about the adoption. I have an online friend that has adopted from Ethiopia... x4 if I'm remembering correctly. Yay for you guys!

  7. x4? Wow, that's awesome! Being beginner parents, we're going to start with one and see how it goes. :)
